Pizza dough is great for pizza, but it’s great for all kinds of pizza.
Ingredients: 1 cup flour 1 cup water 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 tablespoon lemon juice 3 cloves garlic, minced 3 tablespoons lemon zest 1 tablespoon oregano 3 tablespoons olive, salt and pepper to taste (optional) Directions: Mix the flour and water together in a small bowl and set aside.
Whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice and garlic in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
Cook, stirring frequently, until the liquid is thickened, about 10 minutes.
Add the garlic, lemon zests and oreganos and cook, stirring occasionally, until fragrant, about 3 minutes.
Reduce heat to low and cook for 5 minutes, stirring often.
Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice, oreganoes, salt, pepper and flour.
Cook for another 5 minutes.
Allow to cool completely.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the remaining olive oil and lemon juice.
Add salt and freshly ground black pepper to the mixture.
Transfer the dough to a large bowl and knead it for a few minutes.
Form dough into a ball and press it into a floured surface.
Roll the dough into an 8×8 inch ball.
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Brown the dough until golden brown and crispy.
Transfer to a baking sheet and cover with foil.
Place the oven rack in the middle and preheat to 375 degrees F. Place about 10 inches apart on a baking tray.
Let the dough rise for 15 minutes.
Place a baking mat on top of the baking sheet.
Let rise for an additional 15 minutes, until slightly soft.
Brush a few tablespoons of the lemon-lime sauce over the dough.
Remove the dough from the oven and transfer to a cooling rack.
Cover with foil and let rise for 5 to 10 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
Cut into 8 slices, place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, rotating the slices as needed to keep the slices moist.
